got me interested in the in death series.
yes,the book could be boring, and if you have not read the in death series, eve does come across strong. but, the book gives nr fans a chance to see what jd robb is writing and maybe get some new fans. the first part is classic nr. very well written. after reading the other 17 books, the second part made sense. do not be turned off by the 56 year difference. take a chance. i don't think you will be disappointed.
My last Robb/Roberts read . . .
I give the first part of the story a 4 and a zero to the second - in fact, I didn't even finish the book - I simply didn't care what happened to them or the treasure. I enjoyed the first two characters -- Eve and Roarke bore me to tears - or at least, Eve does. I don't like female characters who flaunt the fact that they have bigger (you know whats) than the men in her world -- she's turning Roarke into a whimp! I've read 75% of Robert's books, but I think I'm through with Roberts/Robb - she's done her story formula to death.
This was Like 2 Books in One, Not One Book
The book is divided into two distinct parts - the first is the Nora Robert romance part and the second part is the J.D. Robb portion . My expectation was completely different from what the book actually offered. I `thought' that the book would seamlessly blend the Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb elements within the same story and not separate them so distinctly. Basically, this is like 2 books bound together as one - they are really individual of one another and connect with a very thin string. It would have been much more interesting, and more complicated (obviously something Roberts is not capable of) to actually write a story that blended instead of keeping each part so distinct. The second part was boring and unnecessary - the first part was a nice romance, even though the characters did rush it quite a bit!
