The Guardian

I tried to keep some optimism as I read this book. It was my first Christian, romance, suspence novel. I have to agree with another reviewer who rated it low. It was very unrealistic and as much as I wanted to like Marcus (I did appreciate his sense of humor and his intelligence) I still had a problem with his lack of professionalism. He's a U.S. Marshall who is supposed to be protecting the only witness in a high profile murder case and he's kissing and hugging her and her mother, planning a birthday celebration and not even his partner questioned Marcus' judgement. I understand trust between partners, particularily in law enforcement but give me a break. I'm not contradicting that he couldn't be attracted to Shari but, lets keep some perspective here. He was just a little too perfect. His family was too perfect, too welcoming of a stranger. I couldn't even admire their closeness. Shari annoyed me too. I understood the struggle Marcus was facing but, I couldn't find the compassion for him to overcome his religious conflict let alone, have happiness that he and Shari ended up together.

A Lesson in Endurance

Like every other book in the O'Malley series that I have read, Truth-Seeker was an excellent read. Shari provides a character that I can identify with, a woman determined to make a difference. The balance between suspense and romance is perfect. Marcus's struggle through his doubts about why God doesn't answer prayers provides encouragement for those whose loved ones are going through the same issues. I would recommend The Guardian to any Christian romance-lover.

Another winner for Dee Henderson!

The second book in the O'Malley series involves the oldest of the self adopted family, Marcus O'Malley. As a U.S. Marshall, he is heading up security at a political event when one of the judges vying to be Supreme Court Justice is shot and killed. Shari, the judge's speechwriter, witnesses the murder in the judge's hotel room and narrowly escapes her own death as the shooter panics.
With the murderer seeking to eliminate his only witness, it is up to Marcus and his partner both protect Shari and her family, as well as solve the mystery of the unexpected murder.

Dee Henderson authors another page turner that grips you to your chair until you have completely finished the book. Once her critic, Henderson has won me over to clearly devoted fan. I look forward to reading the next one!
