There are better audio courses out there.
I think one of the benefits of audio courses is that you can listen to them while walking or laying down.... you can't do that with this course though. You will have to sit at a desk, because this is one of those courses where you will have to look at the included coursebook to understand the audio component.
There are no english translations on the CDs, so you can't listen to them alone. Although you also get a dictionary, in my opinion, both the dictionary and the course book aren't of very good quality.
The first CD begins with about 10 minutes of useless spanish names & places around the world. Although this gives you an idea of the pronounciation, I believe that new words are at a premium for the beginner..... i.e. don't bombard us with utterly useless information!
I highly recommend "Behind the Wheel Spanish" by "Language Dynamics" instead of this course. That program has a better coursebook, and better audio too. Although, I don't agree with driving while trying to learn a new language. Why? It requires too much concentration, meaning you can get too easily distracted, and you may have an accident.... (that applies with the "Learn in your car spanish" course too)
Comprehensive Guide to Spanish as a 2nd Language
This Spanish course by Living Language is truly comprehensive and detailed. It covers almost all aspects of the language you will ever need.
So why didn't I give it a 5 star?
Because it is long and BORING!!!
The course has 40 lessons on book and CD! The course book is 340 pages long. Even if you read one page a day (which is almost impossible) it will take you an year to master Spanish.
Most of us want to learn the language so that we can communicate with our friends or master it before that trip to Latin America.
I don't think this course can help you if you want faster rewards.
For example, to get started, you only need to learn how to construct some basic sentences and that means learning a few verbs and words (typically 100 - 150 in all).
LL course ignores this and explains each and every rule in details. As a result, learning becomes a chore rather than a fun activity it should be.
After trying for 3 months, I gave up and bought another book (Passport's Language Guide, Spanish for Beginners) which I carried with me on my trip to South America. In my 10 hr. flight, I got fairly comfortable with at least the very basic sentences and words/verbs that helped my on my trip.
Now, 3 years later I am ready to learn more but I still find LL course to be a drag. So I am using free online course (spanish.about.com) to actually learn the language and I use LL book and dictionary as a reference (to look up words).
Since different people learn in different way, I am sure some of you will find LL course to be very helpful. But before you rush to order, just look the above mentioned websites (hopefully amazon hasn't blanked it out) and book.

I have started a journal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/aquiyahora/) to track my progress in Spanish. Feel free to view it and provide comments and ask questions. I am sure it will help and motivate you.
Don't buy this course
The *lessons* are a joke - If I wanted to hear someone read a list of spanish words for three hours I'd go back to junior high spanish. Spend your money someplace else!
