Amusingly clever and witty !!!!!
John seems to be improving by every book. The latest being "Broken Prey". Lucas finds a match to his abilities in this book. A serial killing starts leading to mutilated bodies. The horrible murder continues without any clue as to whom is behind all this.
Since, the victims are raped and assaulted, the fingers points to charlie pope who has just been released from prison. But, given the way the killings are happening, lucas sense something more deeper than what it looks like.
It takes lucas and sloan every bit of courage and patience to get to the killer. They trace down the killer's motives to the three guys who were use to kill the same way but are locked in prison. Digging deeper into these three guys and taking the crime scene into his head, lucas heads off to find the killer who does not have a name.
Amidst all these, john has cleverly included some very humorous moments where lucas has to find the top 100 songs for his new iPod gifted by his wife. John scores impressively in this section.
Overall, the book is fantastic !!!!
My Finger's Burned Through the Pages
Lucus Davenport is back in another of John Sandford's better than excellent "Prey" books. Somebody is killing in the style of three different serial killers, all who are locked away, safe from society. But someone knows their methods of killing, knows things the police have not told the public. Brrr, is all I have to say about this book. Scary and good. I also liked the fact that Mr. Sandford made Davenport seem very much more human with his goal of finding just the right top 100 songs of rock and roll for his iPod. I love my iPod and was glad to see Mr. Sandford include one in his latest thriller, it is such a hot product and this is such a hot book.
Awesome!
This latest in the Lucas Davenport series is the best to date! (&I've read them all) The focus was on the main characters & the crimes committed, with few sidebars. Of course, I enoyed the "Best Songs of the Rock Era" sidebar, & NO BEATLES! I may go out & but an iPod now.
Great read.
